Almost two weeks ago, we showed you the first screenshots of Instagram’s version of Facebook pages. Now more details have appeared online showing the kinds of detailed post and follower analytics IG is testing ahead of a broad launch of these profiles.
These new screenshots (like the first) were published first by the Later.com blog, and they reveal some of the analytics Instagram ‘business’ users will have access to on their profiles. The special accounts will now be able to access analytics using a graph button on the top right of the screen:
From there, you’ll be able to access data about both your posts and your followers. When do most of your followers use IG during the day? What countries are your followers from? What cities? What were your most popular posts over the past 7 days?
All of these questions and more will be answered by in the new analytics view. You can even dive into your audience demographics with follower breakdowns offered by gender and age:
Post analytics will give you details on impressions rather than just likes, offering a more accurate picture of how many followers are actually seeing your posts in the past 7 days or 30 days.
In addition to “Followers” and “Top Posts,” Later.com reveals there is also an “Insights” section that reveals impressions, reach, website clicks, and follower activity data points. All of this could be a big boon for photographers who use Instagram seriously for business development, lead generation, or as a revenue stream through print sales.
As we mentioned before, these upcoming profiles have been confirmed by Instagram; however, right now they’re just in testing mode. No word on when they’ll arrive IRL, or how you might go about getting one once they do.
